Motivation for Healthy Diet/Living

I posted on my Facebook profile the following: In my weakness, He is made strong. "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

A story that inspired me was of a Chinese parable where an old woman carried two pots on her stick filled with water from a stream to her home. One of the pots was cracked and always leaked its half of its contents on the way back. The pot was so ashamed of itself, one day it spoke to the woman. It said, "I am sorry that I cannot complete the task I was meant to do." The old woman told it, "Do you see all the flowers on your side of the road? I knew you had a crack so I planted flower seeds. Now you have watered the flowers, and I can enjoy their beauty." It brought tears to my eyes, because it reminded me that God uses my weakness for His glory-- and He has created me in His divine image, so I am not a mistake. :) If I suffer in obesity, but help someone else struggling to become healthier... then it is worth it.

Last night, while I was reading Jack Canfield's "The Success Principles," I read the story of an Olympic-wannabe who was learning to luge so he could make it to the Olympics. The man was discouraged because he thought he broke his foot. He calls his mentor, and his mentor says, "Go to the mirror and say to your image, 'I will make it to the Olympics, no matter what the price!'" The man ends up repeating his mantra. I was so inspired, that it is my mantra today-- I WILL MAKE IT TO MY GOAL WEIGHT, NO MATTER THE PRICE!!!
